The Library of Congress announced on Monday that iPhone and other cell phone owners are now able to legally unlock their phones. Jailbreaking is the practice of unlocking a phone so it can be used on another network and run software that hasn’t been approved by Apple. Although it is now legal, jailbreaking still voids the warranty.
